Local Philippines casino operator, Travellers International Hotel Group Incorporated, has reportedly announced that it will be re-opening the shuttered second floor of its Resorts World Manila property from next month in order to offer some 75,347 sq ft of additional gaming space.
RWM is also home to the NEWPORT Mall which features international luxury brands, state-of-the-art movie theaters at Newport Cinemas, an award-winning, and the ultra-modern Newport Performing Arts Theater (NPAT). NEWPORT Mall offers a variety of dining choices with almost 50 restaurant outlets offering a diverse selection of local and world cuisine, prepared by top Filipino and foreign chefs and paired with a wide selection of the finest wines and popular liquors.
All casinos in Metro Manila have been ordered to suspend operations in compliance with the government’s efforts to help curb the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.
This includes all PAGCOR-owned and operated facilities as well as all licensed casinos inside integrated resorts, namely Okada Manila, City of Dreams Manila, Resorts World Manila, and Solaire Resort and Casino.
In an official statement by City of Dreams Manila, it said that it will be temporarily closing its doors until further notice but will still keep its hotels and select restaurants open for business. Social distancing will be strictly imposed and its hotels, Nuwa, Nobu, and Hyatt Regency, will only operate limited floors.
Meanwhile, Okada Manila has closed its dining outlets, stores, spas, and recreational facilities, and has suspended all its March and April restaurant promos.
Solaire Resort and Casino has also cut short its run of Matilda the Musical under GMG Productions at its Theater. Resorts World Manila has likewise closed down its Newport Mall and cinemas and postponed its scheduled concerts until further notice.
As of writing, there are 142 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines, including 12 mortalities and 3 recoveries.
